Scottish hunter

This is an interesting example of a Scottish hunter, wearing kilt and underglaze blue coat, with a dog at his knee and a rifle resting near his right hand. The figure stands 14 ¼” tall and dates to about 1860.
Harding Book Two illustrates a similar figure, albeit without the bird to the lower left. Harding states it is very rare to find this figure coloured. Pugh also illustrates a similar figure on page 516, though that figure does not have the bird, is uncoloured, and is titled. The titling is so rare that it was possibly the name of the recipient of the figure as a gift. All in all, a very interesting figure.
